I have known Brian Sullivan for a little over 10 years. As well as being a student all those years, he is a trusted friend. When I began teaching in Ashland Oregon 10 years ago, Brian was my first student. Having previous experience in Okinawa Kenpo Karate, His interest in Martial Arts grew. Jeet Kune Do (JKD) piqued his interest and the die was cast. He made a commitment to fully immerse himself in JKD, Wing Chun Gung Fu and Filipino Martial Arts. From the onset, Brian showed a hunger for knowledge and a desire to deepen his understanding of the principles, foundation and philosophy which surrounds JKD. Brian’s diligent study and consistent practice has earned him the rank of Full Instructor in Jun Fan Gung Fu, as well as Full Instructor in Progressive Fighting Systems. Brian is always learning and studying the art, seeking answers and deepening his knowledge.

After 10 years in Oregon, I departed and move across country to be closer to my family. I felt about my decision to leave the school in Brian’s hands. I was confident his knowledge of the art and ability patiently convey concepts would be just what the school needed to maintain a standard of excellence the community had grown to know. I serve as ‘Of Counsel’ and advisor for the Oregon school and am continually impressed with the job he is doing. Any student finding themselves under his guidance is indeed fortunate to have found such a capable instructor. If you need any further information concerning Brian, I can be reached at gulfcoastjkd@gmail.com.

I have trained with Sifu Brian Sullivan for the last 7 and a half years in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do and over this time, I have seen him thrive in his role as a teacher. He has a strong passion that comes out when he teaches JKD and Wing Chun, and his excitement is contagious. He has an excellent eye for details and a strong focus on proper technique. Brian really excels when it comes to teaching techniques and drills that transfer over to real life combat and self-defense. He also has a kind heart and likes to introduce the martial arts to people who might benefit from the physical and mental aspects of training. He has helped me become a better fighter, martial artist, and person. I highly recommend his teaching!
